As Senior Engineer R&D, you will support R&D Projects for flexible pipes and their End-fittings and will play a key role on continuous improvement and development of new solutions for our portfolio.
You will be part of End Fitting R&D department (ERD), and you will take part in a range of tasks, where you can leverage your skills as engineer to succeed. These tasks include new and innovative solutions, design and calculation of components, verification and documentation of R&D projects as well as analytical and numerical calculations. Responsibility is to reach new End-fitting solutions and their qualification.
Duties & Responsibilities
Tasks are handled following the development structure from API 17N/Q and DNVGL-RP-A203, respecting the Technology Readiness Levels, always with focus on HSE behavior.

You are responsible for executing support other engineers’ activities such as (but not limited to):
- Track record assessments
- FMECAs – Failure Modes, Effect and Criticality Assessment
- DNVGL qualification documents: Qualification Basis, Technology and Thread Assessment and Qualification Plan
- Equipment structural analysis – Analytical and Numerical (Finite Element Modelling)
- Creation and check Basis of design – Design Premises; Verification of design – Design Reports; Interfaces and technical details – GA Drawings
- Creation and check Order of raw material and long lead items – MTO; Choice of material for the project – Material Selection Report; Creation and check that the designed components can be mounted and installed
- Continuously seek to improve competitiveness and cost awareness using appropriate tools LEAN/Kaizen.
- Travel as and when required
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Materials
Experience
- At least 10 years working in Oil and Gas or Energy in a relevant field
- Desirable to have 10 years experience designing and qualifying Flexible pipes, End-Fittings, Ancillaries or subsea structure qualification process
Skills, Training & Specialist Knowledge
- Skilled user of Finite Element Modelling
- Fluent in English
